Bottom Reels
Waterman Industries bottom reels are built for commercial deep water hook-and-line operations — offshore snapper, grouper, and tilefish work where gear failure isn't an option. Every reel is constructed from marine-grade stainless steel and aluminum, powered by proven Scott motors, and backed by a fully stocked replacement parts program.
Standard Electric Bottom Reel
Frames and stanchions constructed from 1.25″ stainless steel pipe. Stanchions complete with welded foot mount and stainless steel strap style gunwale mounting bracket with T-type locking bolt. Powered by a ¼ HP Scott 12VDC electric motor.
- Heavy duty 5/8″ diameter stainless steel spool shaft
- Replaceable drag washers
- Fiberglass spring arm
- Retrieval rate of 350 feet per minute under moderate load
- Plastic spool designed primarily for wire and cable use — aluminum spool upgrade recommended for monofilament and spectra fiber lines
- All replacement parts stocked
- Spool capacity of 3,500 feet of 3/64″ stainless steel cable
- Draws 19 amps under minimum loading up to 60 amps under heavy loads
- Use of #4 wire for lengths less than 10 feet and #2 for lengths greater than 10 feet is recommended

Hydraulic Bottom Reel
Direct drive hydraulic reels provide the most efficient use of resources on commercial fishing vessels. Peak reel speed and torque are determined by supply pressure and flow.
- 12 GPM pump with a 50/50 flow divider will run up to 8 reels
- Variable speed control valve with stainless steel stem and control handle
- Hydraulic control valve directly mounted to motor
Waterman Hydraulic Bottom Reel
Direct Drive Bottom Reel
Provides maximum torque for many types of fishing applications. New housing design allows for the addition of multiple (up to 3) heavy duty fiberglass spring arms for increased lifting power. Standard model comes equipped with a ¾HP Scott Motor and 25:1 gear box. Different gear box and horsepower combinations available.
